Open call issues provide the opportunity to throw the focus full open:  to new possibility, to reaction to previous issues, to seminal thoughts and urgings illuminating the directions of exploration by dancer-citizens.

Here, we learn of instruction in Chinese Contemporary Dance as a “catalyst for inclusive dance studies”, Kisa Li’s exploration of an intricate dance form within the context of higher education in the United States.

Lucy Bennett delves into how integration of experiential anatomy practices and the Feldenkreis Method into dance pedagogies might provide a more fruitful path than traditional training to support the disabled body in rebuilding trust in the mind-body connection.

And Leslie Polk weaves movement and poetry in an invitation “to consider the common good in this life—to maintain and keep it alive—to recall, re-member, and preserve it”.

These, the fruits of an open call!
